Chef Donald Wilson
Executive Chef and Proprietor

With more than two decades of culinary experience, Chef Donald Wilson is the vision behind Landon’s Restaurant & Bar. He pictured an establishment “where food meets friends” in a familiar and warm-spirited atmosphere, complemented by an elegant modish facade. Landon’s brings affordable 4-Star cuisine to a community that appreciates the highest quality in all aspects of life.

Chef Donald first fell in love with food preparation as a teenager while working at Little Rock, Arkansas’ famed LaScala & The Afterthought Restaurant. Although Chef Donald began his career as a dishwasher at this infamous establishment, in just two years he quickly moved up the ranks to Chef de Cuisine. During the next three years he was recognized for numerous award-winning dishes and that style and quality has transferred to Landon’s.
After consistent encouragement from his wife Theda, Chef Donald’s next objective was to tackle the rigors of a formal culinary arts education as a student at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America located in Hyde Park, New York.

Upon completing his formal training, this star on the rise honed his culinary skills in the kitchens of some of Atlanta’s most reputed restaurants including Anthony’s, The Vining’s Club, and the Peasant Uptown. Throughout his professional training, Chef Donald became ardently intrigued with the flavors of the world. Today, his experimentation with intercontinental cuisine has created an industry niche.

After spending more than a decade in the restaurant and hospitality industries, Chef Donald became the Executive Chef for the estate of Bishop Eddie Long, the Senior Pastor for New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia. While working with Bishop Long, Chef Donald’s cuisine was enjoyed and commended by many of this country’s most admired and recognized citizens. Chef Donald also began managing Chef Donald’s Creations, a thriving catering business.
In early 2007, with culinary success resting comfortably with Chef Donald, he and Theda finalized the Landon’s concept and their vision began to manifest itself into a tangible reality.

At age 41, Chef Donald Wilson gratefully celebrates the realization of his dream and his contribution of economic development to the Cascade community. He is reminded of the journey of faith he has taken every time he pulls into Landon’s parking lot. He dedicates “his success as the proprietor of Landon’s to his spiritual relationship with God and to his mother—who as a single mother of six worked two jobs to provide for her family.”

In his spare time, Chef Donald enjoys spending time with his family, contributes his efforts to further develop the economy of the Cascade community and mentors aspiring culinary artists. He and his wife Theda are hopeful that their daughter, Lauren and son, Landon will allow their father’s journey to form the foundation from which they begin to dream, envision and build the blueprint of their futures. For Chef Donald, husband, father, son, chef and restaurateur—a family legacy of such impactfull progression will be the ultimate achievement.
